Text of a speech about The 67th
Indonesian Independence Day.
Assalamualaikum
Wr. Wb.
With all due respect to the honorable headmaster, to all of the teachers here attending, and to all of the audiences, ladies and gentlemen, good morning everyone!

First of all,
let us thank to Allah SWT which because of His blessings, we all can gather
here on this event. In this chance, I would like to tell you my speech about
the 67th Indonesian Independence Day.
67 years ago, our nation was proclaimed its freedom. Struggle after struggle had been done to obtain this freedom. Sweat and blood had been sacrificed by our heroes and our people, so that the freedom could be realized. And in 67 years already, we have built this country in sadness and happiness. Yes, 67 years. In that length of time Indonesia should have grown up in many situations. This country should have become one fabulous country and one of the biggest nation with the richness of its cultures. But it’s so sad to see our country here nowadays, where hunger is in everywhere, corruption is in vionlently and arbitrarily, our economy is getting worst day by day. Why? Why the Land of Ibu Pertiwi that we loved so much become like this?!

Many said that all of this problem is the fault of the government. Clean the government so that the nation will be cleaned. Not only in the central governance, but also the regional governance. Meanwhile, the civilians aren’t really care about the condition of their country, especially young generations like us. The nationalism of Indonesian youth nowadays is extremely low.
You see…… many
Indonesian youngsters who can’t say the sound of Pancasila, many who can’t say the sound of
Sumpah Pemuda, many who can’t say the openings of the 1945’s constitutions, and
even so many youngsters who gets lazy when it comes to flag ceremony attending
in their school.
Hello youngsters
of Indonesia?! Where is your nationalism?!
We must plant
nationalism character, eastern rules, we must keep and the cultures of
Indonesia. Take example of Indonesian youth long time ago where their
struggling spirit is extremely high, they have high dedication to Pancasila,
and they have strong mission and visions. For another example, nowadays the
student of vocational schoolhave could make the cars. We must pround with them.
In this 67th Independence Day we should think. Think of how our country should be in the future. Now Indonesia is very sick. Very very sick. But every sickness has medicines. Let us all change our nation be better, because if it is not us do it, then who will? Do everything useful for our nation!!!
